Spoken Tutorial – IIT Bombay and 360 Research Foundation Collaboration

The Spoken Tutorial Project is an initiative of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, under the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT). This project aims to promote IT literacy and self-learning through audio-video tutorials in multiple Indian languages. The tutorials are focused on Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) such as Python, Linux, Scilab, LibreOffice, LaTeX, Arduino, and many more, catering to students, teachers, and working professionals across various disciplines.

Recognizing the significance of this initiative in skill development, the 360 Research Foundation, a national-level organization dedicated to grassroots research, innovation, and training, has partnered with IIT Bombay as a knowledge partner to promote Spoken Tutorials in rural and underserved areas.

Under this collaboration:

  • The 360 Research Foundation serves as a Training Partner, mobilizing students, educators, and professionals to undertake these valuable courses.
  • The foundation organizes low-cost training programmes to make high-quality digital education accessible to all.
  • Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, participants receive certificates from IIT Bombay, adding significant value to their skillset and employability.
  • The partnership particularly focuses on enhancing digital and technical skills in rural India, educational institutions, and skill development centres.

This joint effort reflects a shared vision of democratizing education and empowering the youth and professionals with tools for self-learning, thereby contributing to India’s digital and knowledge economy.
